This is the follow up to my last post about the Nike Hyper Elite Uniforms we have started to see hit the hardwood. The jerseys and shorts are now starting to become available at retail.

Today NIKE rolled out some new unis that a handful of select squads will wear this year. Every year NIKE touts these as the most advanced basketball uniforms in the history of the game. Quite a lofty bar to set every year but I guess when no one is really measuring the results you can claim whatever you want.

I'm not bashing NIKE I just find it quite amusing. This year they have gone with the gray palette that is rampant on the hardwood this year ... excuse me "Platinum" in this case. As a fan of gray uniforms these are on point for me. Thumbs up!!!

No word yet on retail release of any products but I will be on that when it happens. I'm thinking the UNC shorts will be mine if they release.

Adidas Soul Swingman Jerseys

Surfing the web a few minutes ago and came across some Adidas Soul Swingman NBA jerseys. I am familiar with these jerseys and have checked them out in person on several occasions years ago. Well after digging a little deeper on Dicks Sporting Goods site I came across a very nice selection of players and teams including this Lakers gem. Now I've seen Mitchell and Ness do the blue version of this jersey in the past but never this sparkling white number ...... NICE!!!!!

I'd give this the thumbs up .. I'd buy this stamp of approval. How about you?

Michael Jordan Mitchell and Ness Jerseys

So the NBA season has started and for a while it seemed like the web was very slow to catch up with new merchandise for the season .. I would imagine it was lockout related. Well things are heating up and the NBA Store is adding new items including Michael Jordan throwback jerseys from Mitchell and Ness. Several different options available on the site including the one pictures with the All Star patch on the breast ... very nice.

Nike True Colors Destroyer Jacket

The first Nike letterman's jacket was for an imaginary team called the Dunk High Destroyers, and limited numbers were produced. The next version got even more technical, but the Destroyer name stuck."

Well Nike has now started doing some NCAA versions of the Destroyer jacket and they look quite nice (Duke sample pictured). Here's the problem ... you can't buy it from Nike.com. I think that your best bet is to call the Nike Sportswear store in NYC and see if they have the product and ask if they will take a phone order and ship to you.

NCAA Throwback Football Jerseys

Hey everyone. Well it looks like I have fallen asleep at the wheel in terms of keeping people abreast of great new athletic apparel hitting the marketplace. I vow to keep my focus in 2012 and bring you some great stuff.

Back in 2010 I discovered a terrific new brand that was making some great quality NCAA throwback football jerseys. The name of the brand is Tiedman & Formby Vintage Athletic Co. I purchased a Univ of Colorado jersey while strolling through a shop in Boulder and have been hooked ever since.

What got me was their use of durene fabric .... love it. So retro. So vintage. Just fantastic items to wear as a fan of throwback apparel.
