Northwestern Wildcats Under Armour Jerseys

So the first weekend of college football brought us a host of new looks on the filed for various teams including Northwestern.  They switched from Adidas to UA this year and their new look has become one of my favorites.  That old school striping across the jersey is just such a classic look to me.  You can purchase the replica version of the jersey on their official store - Northwestern Official Online Store.    They also have a very nice selection of other UA product as well.

47 Brand Top Gun Tees for NFL and NCAA

Anyone remember these style tees from your youth?  The ones I was wearing at the time did not have NFL or NCAA teams but rather just numbers and color blocking that made them look like NFL jerseys.  I used to wear mine all the time.  Anyway, check out these licensed versions made by 47 Brand for NFL teams at your favorite teams on line shop.  I have seen them for college teams as well so be on the lookout.  Scouring the web as I write for a San Diego Chargers version .....

Adidas Unrivaled Jersey - Wisconsin

The kickoff of college football is not far off and that sends me scurrying to the web to find some of the newest items for the upcoming season.  I had seen some posts on the web over the summer which detailed some new jerseys that Adidas has come up with for Wisconsin and Nebraska.  As you can see they are following the design trend of last year's Michigan jerseys to incorporate some big block letters on the jersey front in place of the normal numbers.  Personally, I love the concept.  How many times do we need to see the players number on the jersey anyway?

I could not find a spot to purchase the Nebraska jersey but I did find the Wisconsin version available for pre-order at Buckys Lockeroom.

Nike USA Basketball Hoodie

Love this USA Basketball Hoodie by Nike.  The flag graphic on the back makes it for me.  Still decent sizes available on Dicks Sporting Goods.  Also available in Navy but I don;t think the flag graphic pops as well on the dark background.

 

Under Armour Tottenham Hotspur Apparel Available

So Under Armour has now joined forces with the Tottenham Hotspur and have invaded the English Premier League.  I am not an avid follower of pro soccer admittedly so forgive me if I am incorrect but this seems to be UA's first big venture into the world of big time pro soccer.  The gear does look good I have to say from what I saw on the UA website.  Check it out. 

Argentina and Spain - Olympic Basketball Jerseys on Sale

Chinese company Li Ning has begun to make waves here in the US Basketball market over the past few years with their endorsed athletes Baron Davis and Evan Turner.  For the first time I have seen them pop on the scene with some team jerseys you can actually buy on line.  They are making the jerseys for Spain and Argentina basketball in the 2012 Olympics and you can get your very own on their website Li Ning.

USA 21st Century Windrunner by Nike

If you have been watching the Olympic coverage thus far you have seen a lot of Nike product being worn by the athletes.  One of my favorite items I have seen is this high tech wind runner.  I saw Ryan Lochte wearing this one after one of his events.  Forgive me as I am not the biggest fan of the swimming events.  Anyway, check out Nike.com for this amongst many other great items.

USA Basketball wearing "Dream Team" throwbacks tonight

Check out the USA vs Argentina in some pre olympic tuneup action tonight and you will see them rocking the 1992 Dream Team throwbacks.  Very cool.

Nike NFL KO Full Zip Hoodies

So far Nike has rolled out some jerseys, tees, shorts, etc. for the upcoming season.  It looks like we are now about to see some of the fall weather stuff starting to hit the net as evidenced by this new hoodie I came across this morning on Nike.com.   Right now only the Rams are available but I am sure that will change over the next few days. 

NIke 1992 Dream Team Jerseys Available

Okay, so I posted last week about the new Team USA basketball jerseys for 2012 and also mentioned the Dream Team anniversary jerseys would be for sale ... well today is the day. I just grabbed a few of these for myself from NBA.com. Jordan, Barkley, and Pippen available. You won't see a Bird or Magic version as they were not Nike endorsed athletes and these are after all Nike jerseys.

What you will find though are they made the Dream Team style jerseys for some of the current 2012 squad including Nike's new Big 3 of Durant, Kobe, and Lebron.

The Dream Team style includes screen printed graphics instead of sewn on details which bums me out a bit considering they are charging the same $120 for this style as they are the 2012 version which has great sewn on details and sublimated USA flag graphics on the back mesh panel. I saw the 2012 version in person and they are very nice, high quality jerseys.

USA Basketball Hyper Elite Jerseys Now Available

Nike.com has added the 2012 USA Basketball Hyper Elite authentic jerseys to their site for sale.  Right now you can choose from Lebron, Kobe. or Durant.  Home and away colors both available.  Check em out.  These hyper elite jerseys are a great quality and at $120 the price is not too bad ... for an authentic.

Keep your eyes open and keep posted to Athletic Trend over the next few weeks because Nike is supposed to drop the 1992 Dream Team jerseys celebrating the 20th anniversary of their gold medal.  I am very excited for those.

Nike NFL Elite Jersey - In Hand analysis

Well I got my Nike Elite jersey in my hands yesterday and I thought I would share some feedback for all those who are thinking about taking the $250 leap for the new swag.

First off I love the jersey.  I have been waiting to get a new Phillip Rivers jersey for a while and I'm glad I waited for the new Nike Elites.  Yes I am a Chargers fan.  Please fire Norv Turner (sorry ....back to the topic).

Anyway, here are some thoughts / observations:

• The fit is much slimmer than the Reebok authentics of the past.  Particularly through the chest and torso.  The big baggy look is out anyway.
• I think that the sizing chart on nflshop.com does a good job of giving the measurements for making the best size decision without seeing the jersey in advance of purchase.
• The materials are great.  The stretch fabric is really heavy duty and the mesh is in my eyes much tighter and better quality than past offerings.
• The twill numbers have a nice "flex" to them unlike years past.  You know how the Reebok numbers would sit there all stiff and rigid like you were wearing a stop sign on your chest ... not anymore.
• Love the flywire collar .. sits nice and high as well so you don't have the flashdance scoop neck feel.
• If anyone has purchased an NCAA throwback from Nike within the past two years I would say .... the craftsmanship is much the same in terms of the use of the flex fabric in combination with the mesh ventilation panels.

I have included some pics to show some of the details of the jersey.  Wish the pics were better but its the best I can do right now.

They're HERE!!!!

Last week we saw the official launch of the NIKE NFL Game and Elite jerseys.  You can check out various outlets for the jerseys but either Nike.com or Nflshop.com are probably your best bet.

I saw the game jerseys on display at the NFL pop up shop in NYC and they are nice.  They are quite different from what you would expect in a replica jersey.  There is little mesh used on the jersey as the primary material is more of a polyester microfiber makeup.  The screen printing looks to be miles ahead of what Reebok was doing - very heavy print almost like the authentic jerseys of the 80's.  My primary concern with the Game (replica) jersey is how that body material holds up to washing.  I have had issues with some of these type fabrics from Nike really "pilling" up after laundering.

I have yet to see the Elite (authentic) version in person but my Chargers jersey is on order so I will try to do an in depth piece on that once it arrives.

Kickin it Old School Brooklyn Style

The Nets are now officially branded as the Brooklyn Nets and they have gone OLD SCHOOL COOL with the new logo. Wow, this is the best new look I have seen from a Pro Sports franchise in I don't know how long. Leave it to a style expert like Jay Z to knock it right out of the park with the new look. Props Jay...... And thank you. Get on over to Fans Edge to check out the new apparel. Bad news, most of what I saw is pre order and can't ship until mid May. Damn. I need a Brooklyn Nets tee right now.
